Latino Student Alliance, Puente, Dream Club, and G.R.E.A.T. are co-sponsoring the public lecture on women’s rights and immigration issues with two speakers from the Mexico Solidarity Network: “Justice for Women on the Border”.
Time & Location: 2-4 p.m. at ASDVC Conference Room (Student Union), DVC, Pleasant Hill, on October 26, 2006.
Quote from the flyer:
“For more than a decade, the cities of Juarez and Chihuahua have been the sites of over 400 unsolved, brutal murders of women. This event will highlight the impact of neoliberal economic policies, drug trafficking, militarization, and the maquiladora sector on the femicides. Often families of victims suffer threats and defamation by government officials for making one demand: STOP THE FEMICIDES!”
